Nagasaki　Trip　(For Conference Presentation) - Deliver Our Life to U ～３講座～

お久しぶりです。

(It's been a long time.)

「何とか一か月に一回以上更新」を保てている更新担当Nです(嘘)。

(I'm N in charge of the diary update and I can manage to keep update frequency which is one update a month at least. )

実は６月上旬に学会の関係で長崎に行ってまいりました。

(In fact, we went to Nagasaki prefecture for a technical conference in early June.)

約５日という長い滞在期間でしたが、長崎を満喫するということもなく

(Even though I stayed for about 5 days, I couldn't enjoy any sightseeing in my leisure time. So, I practiced presentation for the conference and made a Entry Sheet for my job hunting activities. )

ホテルにこもって発表練習とエントリーシートを作成するという、

長崎という遠方に出向いたというのにひっきーな暮らしをしていた私でした。

(As you can imagine easily from above statement, I shut myself in a hotel in spite of long distance journey.)

発表に関しては練習は見ないで言えるほど練習していたのですが、

当日、事前にパワーポイントの映りのチェックをしていなかったため、

変な映り方に戸惑い記憶が飛んだ私でした。

(Though I practiced my presentation without any scripts, at the day, my memory for presentation disappeared and I'm confused due to no check whether my power point match well with a screen or not)

発表失敗。。。(My presentation ended in failure.)

質疑応答の時、質問内容にCopperとSulfateという単語が出てきました。

(In addition, the words of "Copper" and "Sulfate" were included in content of a question at the question period.)

過去に論文で知ってはいたのですが、しばらく見てなかったので

一体何を言ってるのだ。。。という状態に陥り、しかも耳が悪いので余計に

聞き取れず質疑応答も失敗。。。

(I saw the words in some paper before, however, I thought what those words were on earth ? and I couldn't understand the question because I forgot the meanings and I have difficulty in hearing.)

という失敗の旅でしたが、その分、自分にとっての課題が見つかりました。

(My english presentation for the first time failed. However, I can find tasks for myself which are the followings.)

・技術英語、専門に関連する英単語の習得

(To acquire technical english and english words for the specialty of concrete and so on.)

・リスニング力の向上

(To improve my English listening.)

・英語の文献をもっと読んでいく

(To read and understand many English documents.)

・発表前はパワポの映りチェックする(←当たり前(笑))

ですね。
